Weekly Photo Challenge: Rocks Balanced On Top of Rocks (Thailand)

There’s something fascinating about balancing rocks. In Phu Phra Bat Historical Park there are huge rocks balanced on top of other rocks. The park is a short rented motorcycle distance away from the city of Nong Khai in Northeast Thailand (Issan).

Many people have placed these little sticks to help prop up this gigantic rock, as if this was possible. Totally charming!

    • If you mean the little stone hut on top of the rock, there didn’t seem to be any way up for mere mortals like me. However, I think it’s a meditation hut. There were various shrines, small and large, spotted around the area, and I think I may have spotted a rickety ladder hidden in a dark corner of one of them.
