When I travel, every day is an adventure. I feel the anticipation build once I have checked in at the airport. It’s hard to sit still. Every the most boring airport gets dozens of photos taken of it.
Just getting to Bangkok’s ‘other’ airport was an adventure, followed by a short flight into unexpected Myanmar on Air Asia.
Flying over Myanmar, past celestial beings…
…and more temples than villages.
Then we were on the ground and in the free AirAsia shuttle, immersed in ginger aroma therapy and mosquitos, heading into Mandalay where the real adventure began.

Sounds like the start of a grand adventure.

Burma/Myanmar was one of the more challenging countries we have visited, especially in the beginning… before we figured out how things worked!
Figuring that out helps in any country, doesn’t it?
It was harder in Myanmar than in most countries, even India!
