Brouwerij ‘tIj was a highly recommended brewpub located in a windmill in Amsterdam!
The day we went there it was so popular they ran out of tables and people were sitting anywhere they could.
We managed to snag a couple of seats at one of the long tables near the brewery entrance. It was very crowded and you couldn’t help but talk with your neighbours.
Our neighbours on the bench recommended the Zatte Tripel (8%).
It was self-serve so the inside was quite chaotic.
We both ordered their Tripel Zatte, which we pronounced very good, a classic delicious triple with floral aromas. We also ordered some snacks, a hard sausage and some heated sausage, both of which went really well with beer.
Outside was pretty chaotic as well, it was hard to keep up with all the drinkers.
The brewpub is located on the ‘edge’ of the downtown area, a place to pop into after touring the Hortus Botanical Gardens.
