This Utrecht bar has a very different mood than most, like hanging out with your friends at the family mansion – if you just happened to have a mansion.

The artwork on the walls is original and unusual.
The officious bar cat acts as manager of the place, greeting all customers as they come and go.
Here’s the bar cat supervising the posting of the daily special, Aparagus Flemish-style.
Fabulous atmosphere and an excellent choice of beer – I had my new favourite fruit beer, a Boon Kreik and Al an old favourite, Leffe.
Sadly nothing on the menu caught our fancy so we were off to our other Utrecht discovery, the Café Belgie.
