It mostly rains in Vancouver in the winter so if I want snow I have to go up into the mountains or into the interior of the province. Here are some of my favourite snow shots from BC.
Snow-laden trees at Silver Star Mountain Ski Resort near Vernon.
When it’s snowing and the sun comes out the snow flakes sparkle like they do on a Christmas card, but the photograph shows this sparkle as rainbow-edged bokeh. (Blackcomb at Whistler)
Larch trees in the snow up on Fernie mountain.
Snow-laden trees on Hwy 5 near Hope, BC – wonderful to look at but a bit of a nightmare to drive in…
‘Selfie’ from the ski lift on Red Mountain in Rossland, BC – mine are the narrow pointed skis which are apparently so vintage they would be better used in a snow fence than for skiing.
A river of clouds covers the valley at Revelstoke Mountain.
Cold winter in snow country near Kamloops. BC.
Did I say it rarely snows in Vancouver? If it does, people go nuts and build snow caves to house the sudden influx of snowmen…
I know I’m coming home when I spot the Coastal Mountains from the plane.

Excellent.
I love all the different types of light you get when it snows!
Yes. It’s amazing. And you captured it perfectly.
Thank you!

Love when it snow. Although we seemed to get a lot of it this year!
