Situations that are primarily dark and light usually make for dramatic photos. Here are some of my favourites.
Indoors without flash.
Walking the dog at Illuminate Yaletown in Vancouver, Canada. My friend’s granddaughter this Christmas.
Outdoors at night without flash.
Twin Pines hotel in the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia.
The show must go on, even on rainy night in Hanoi. (Vietnam)
Super sunny light with heavy shadow.
Organic ‘craft’ tequila-making in Mexico.
The sun flares around a walker in Valladolid, Spain.
A dark-skinned person wearing white clothing near their face.
A Bedouin man at a sheep auction in Isreal.
A man playing in a brass band for the wedding parade in Bundi, India.
I rarely use flash although it would have been helpful in the last two images to bring out details in the person’s face. All of these photos have had a touch (sometimes a heavy touch) of the ‘Shadows/Highlights’ adjustment in Photoshop.
You have a great gallery of lights and darks. Well done. 😀
Thank you so much!
Wonderful shots. I love the rainy night in Hanoi.
As you can see, it was absolutely pouring for the performance – soggy dancing tigers abounded!
Agree with Marie, Rainy Night is a winner! Happy New Year!
It was a very special soggy evening!
