Sandcut Beach has waterfalls coming down on the beach.
The walk into the beach is through a forest with swampy areas.
A close-up showing the fossilized sandstone ledge that the water tumbles over.
In the spring the water falls have lots of water flowing.
Come September the water is really just a sprinkle but still beautiful.
Long shot of the waterfalls.
A mosaic of me.
Close-up of pebbles and driftwood on Sandcut Beach.
A rocky ledge piled up with beach pebbles.
Another thing that fascinated me were the tangles of kelp and seaweed.
Map showing the West Coast Road near Sooke. Sandcut Beach is between French Beach Park and China Beach Provincial Park.
This place looks fab!
Vancouver is on my very short list of places I must visit soon. Almost made it a couple of years ago when we were in Seattle, but just didn’t have time. 😦 Love the photos! Thanks for joining the challenge!
This is over on Vancouver Island – a ferry ride away from Vancouver – as you can see from the little map there’s a lot to explore and take photos of on the West Coast Road – I’ve done this route three or four times, staying several days each time and I never get tired of it!
I’ve been there too!! Fabulous shots of a great place!
Don’t you live right by it? So much potential for paintings and photography!
yes, I’ve taken a lot of pics in that area!!
Put a post of them together just for me, please. I’d love to see them!
🙂
