  1. Vietnam is such an amazing, beautiful country; I would love to visit it some day. All the more because as a small child I first learned of its existence from nightly news war reporting. 😢

  2. We’ve been to Vietnam twice, once in November 2003 and the second time in December 2013, and both times it was beautiful. These photos are all from the later trip – I still have to scan the ones from 2003. The bulk of the population is quite young and look forward, not backward. They had a baby boom around 1976/77, after the war ended, and these young people never experienced it. Many of those that did experience problems escaped to Canada and the US and are much more bitter than those that stayed.
