September 23, 2015. Early afternoon.
Downhill Demesne is in Ireland, UK, near the town of Castlerock. I thought I’d add this sign of Castlerock as it happens to be exactly of the photo above.
Once we’d located Downhill Demesne, their trail took us over hill and dale, and into a mysterious ‘black glen’.
Mussenden Temple, the Bishop’s library, on the edge of the sea.
A sign for the Mussenden Temple.
The site overlooks Downhill Strand.
Even though it was a warm day this long sandy beach was empty except for a solitary yoga practitioner.
On the other side of the ‘Temple’ library was the ruins of the manor house.
Some tidbits of gossip about the former inhabitants for you.
Inside the ruined manor house.
Looking out at a temple.
The temple.
Map of leaving Ballycastle along the Causeway Coastal Route of Ireland.
From here we headed back into the Republic of Ireland.
