In Hanging Bridges a loop trail takes you through the Costa Rican jungle where you can view some rather strange-looking plants.
Three different types of Heliconia, also known as the Lobster Claw Plant.A perfect spotlight shone on this fan palm.
Around another bend in the path was this other plant – it looks like an alien being out of a sci-fi movie, and I haven’t yet been able to identify it. Anybody have any idea what it is?
Another alien plant with multiple roots(?)
One of the hanging bridges this place was named after – this one was closed off for some reason.
Not sure if this particular bridge is any safer, seeing as it’s named after the venomous Fer-de-Lance snake.
A palm tree going to seed.
The bugs have been busy.
Really busy…
Strange fruits.
A fern maybe?
There were also waterfalls…
poisonous snakes (some kind of viper)…
and a view of the Arenal Volcano off in the distance.
