We started our walk on Inisheer by walking to the picturesque cemetery and sunken church, and then continuing on towards the shipwreck.
Horse carts passed us several times, delivering tourists to the shipwreck. Once the passengers were off the drivers dumped their horse shit catchers onto a huge pile of manure – quite odiferous, pee-u!
We spent ages at the shipwreck – by the time we were finished three more sets of carts had come and gone, catching the 11 o’clock ferry as well.
A quick look at some of the graffiti on the inside of the wreck.
My artsy shot for this post: the shipwreck in the photo app Pixlromatic.
More on our 2015 trip to Ireland.
And what was that ship?
It just said An Plassy on the map which I think means shipwreck – there were no signs or info on it at all!
Fair enough!
OK, found it…it was MV Plassy, see this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Plassy
