Cliff Palace is a complex of cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado, USA.
After our difficult hike to the petroglyphs we raced down to our campsite for a quick shower, and then raced back up for our scheduled Cliff Palace tour at 5:00.The late afternoon sun really highlighted the ruins of the ‘palace’, the largest group of cliff dwellings in the park.
There were multiple layers to the ruins. The cliff dwellings overlooked several pits and deep within those pits were kivas (ceremonial rooms). This ladder leads up from one of the kivas in Cliff Palace.
A home within the soaring ceiling of the cliff.
Purple asters at the edge, pushing their way up through the desert rock.
Yucca and yellow Rabbit Bush.
Cliff Palace is an amazing place, and you have captured it so well.
We were lucky with the light!
Really beautiful!
Must be quite a place
