October 7.
Leaving Killarney National Park we drove through the mountains on our way to the Beara Peninsula. We stopped at Ardgroom Village Inn for an Irish Coffee.
A little further along, at Eyeries, we did a quick check of the beach and docks.
The colourful boats at the dock.
Eyeries was the turn-off for Castletownbere.
It had been a long day. We were running out of light and getting hungry so we missed the rest of the Beara Peninsula and did a ‘zoomer’ straight to Castletownbere. There we booked into a B&B, and then headed out for a dinner of hake, salad and chips.
Spent a quiet evening at the famous McCarthy’s Bar.
On this day, October 7, we went from Sneem to Castletownbere via the Ballighbeama Gap and Killarney National Park. The next day we went back around the tip of Beara to see what we’d missed, then to the Mizen Head Peninsula before ending up in Skibbereen.
