Out in the Blue Hour in BC’s Okanogan, January 2020

Late last year my little camera took back control of the white balance settings – I used them all the time as its auto white balance was horrible, especially in certain situations. And now the controls were greyed out so I couldn’t get at them.

I happened to be in the Okanogan in January and it was really cold. And everything turned out way too blue, as if my camera was cold too.

Around 4:30 one afternoon we went for a walk around a small bird sanctuary in Kelowna, and everything was even MORE blue.  Kelowna: a walk in the wild bird reserve on a winter eveningKelowna: a walk in the wild bird reserve on a winter eveningKelowna: a walk in the wild bird reserve on a winter eveningIs this what they call the ‘Blue Hour’?Kelowna: a walk in the darkHowever, when we came to an outdoor skating rink with a fire I saw that not everything was blue.
