Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, Canada as seen by two different photographers.
September 17th, 2017.
By the time we arrived at Qualicum Beach the rain had stopped and a rainbow appeared over the water. Al was fading fast and wanted a nap so I headed out and wandered along the beach. It was a grey day and the tide was high.
A smidgen of sun shining on some yellow wildflowers.
A home-made wood sculpture of an Orca whale.
Hmmm, poor thing might need a couple of dental implants!
Later I woke Al up and we went out to The Shady Rest. This is their beer menu that day.
One thing I have wanted to do on this blog is show some of the same places through other people’s cameras. The next series of shots are from my brother Rob, who was there in 2022 on a sunny day with the tide way out.

That rainbow is spectacular 😀 😀
There is always something special about rainbows…
Lots of things to see and do there!
It’s one of my favourite areas in the province for sketching trips, and there is gorgeous Hornby Island not too far away as well.
