Looking up, down and all around at Tintern Abbey in Wales
Looking up at the soaring Gothic windows in what was once the main entrance into the now ruined cathedral.Looking across.Looking up close at a crumbling altar covered in the moss of ages.Looking to the side at the stone walls backdropping a statue of Mary holding the baby Jesus.
Looking down at Tintern Abbey: tombstones embedded in the ground.

Amazing old ruin. I liked the carvings like the fish. Thanks for joining the challenge this week.
Oh, it’s a great old ruin – long time since I was there
I love the fish carving Elizabeth – the ruin is a terrific subject for the week’s challenge.
What a great choice for this challenge! Staying in one place and looking all around. Nice photos!
Excellent. So many ruins from ‘the Dissolution’.
You certainly showed us the art of observation, in addition to looking up and down, Elizabeth. I love the mossy images, and especially loved the image of looking across with the pink flowers on the bottom right. It bought an additional element of interest to the photo.
There’s always something magical about ruins as this one. Wonderfully captured.
Loved all your choices, and especially that you chose ruins. Beautiful.
