the #turquoisewater the #BowRiver and the surrounding #rockformations using mostly very #watery #fluidacrylic on #watercolourpaper to create a #transparent #watercolour of #softTurquoise of #JohnstonCanyon in #Banff #acrylicpainting. White #oilpastel was used for the #whitewater portion of the #river #landscape #16x12 #Vancouverartist
the #turquoisewater the #BowRiver and the surrounding #rockformations. The #transparency of the #softTurquoise of of #JohnstonCanyon in #Banff is hard to capture in a #acrylicpainting, especially the #whitewater portion of the #river that is driving me nuts. Here I first #gessoed on #watercolourpaper, providing much of the underlying #texture. Then I used #fluidacrylics, which are more #transparent than regular acrylic paint, and #oilpastel for the white sections. #landscape #16x12 #Vancouverartist
