There is a trend in Europe to ‘lock in your love’ on any handy bridge you have hanging around.
Like all modern ‘trends’ the effect is a mass rush to apply so many locks on some bridges that the sheer weight of all the locks can cause the structural integrity of the bridge to fail.
I believe this trend started in France but Holland has more canals and bridges than most places so…
Amsterdam
In Rotterdam the locks trend had only just got started.

Really enjoyed your pictures! I think the France bridge of locks is being taken down! I had no idea Amsterdam and other places did this – great pics!
I just checked the poor love lock bridge in Paris – I wonder what will happen to everyone’s love after the bridge is dismantled? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/01/paris-love-locks-bridge_n_7483952.html
I know – but if they recycle the locks I think there will be all these hearts blowing through the atmosphere – lol!
A few are nice, but look at the pics from Cologne or other cities…
Wow, some cities go all out with the love locks. Thanks for letting me know about Cologne!
My son’s love lock hangs on the bridge in Cologne…it was one of the first ones.
Such a wonderful world of locks you have on display. Thanks for playing.
Great photos, though I really dislike this trend. I’m sure the padlock manufacturers like it though. 😛
