NOTE: For certain people that can not do anything without a map, there is one of the Historic Centre and Zone Romántica about half-way down this post.
A list of my Puerto Vallarta highlights – the first events listed are by the day they happen, the rest happen all the time!
Tuesday morning Sculpture Tour meeting at the Millennium Sculpture at 9:30. On Wednesdays evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 many of Puerto Vallarta’s best art galleries sponsor an Art Walk in the Centro Historico.
Traditional Dance Shows (Baile Folclórico), Friday at 7:30.
Free folkloric dance performances at Lazaro Cardenas Park in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. From visit-vallarta.com, ‘Every Friday during the high-season months of November through April, Xiutla gives back to the local community with free performances in their native Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Their colorful and enchanting 90-minute performances take place in the Romantic Zone at Lazaro Cardenas Park, with a start time of 7:30 p.m.’ Every other Friday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, Basilio Badillo, a street in the Zona Romantica, hosts the South Side Shuffle, where everything is open and visits to high-end art galleries, shopping and restaurants are accompanied by a street party with live music and more.
Olas Altas Saturday Market at Lazaro Cardenas Park, a popular market for long-stay tourists with lots of home-baked bread and coffee from the hills above the city and hand-crafted everythings. There is almost always music as well and the park is growing increasingly beautiful as every surface becomes tiled.
On Sunday at 7, the Plaza de Armas is the meeting place for a night of dancing called El Danzón.
Los Arcos Amphitheatre has regular performances in Spanish. The comedians and clowns often require a fairly good grasp of Spanish to understand what everyone is laughing about but other performances transcend language.

Act II Stages.
Act II Stages in Puerto Vallarta has two theatres with a variety of shows, one usually featuring a drag performance and the other outstanding musicians. On November 7th we saw the last performance of Electile Dysfunction, a ‘Dragapella Quartet’ — raunchy and hilarious. The next day, November 8th, was the US election and that was yet another performance!
The theatre has a fun bar, usually with live music. You have to order a minimum of two drinks but they’ll bring the drinks to you in the theatre. For the line-up see http://actiientertainment.com.
The International Friendship Club offers movies, Spanish classes, yoga, history lectures and more.
Puerto Vallarta Botanical Garden.
Eating on the Beach.
